Often on the road of life,
I’ve found a friend or two.
Who stand by me for a while,
And help me figure through.
Some are those who come and go,
And some who stay the night.
Some who call from far off lands,
Just to say goodnight.
We have friends for sunshine,
Who stay when there is light.
We have friends for moon rays,
For tender fading nights.
Just like newspaper boats,
Floating gently by a stream.
Only when it starts to pour,
Can you know who to esteem.
And, you my friend, are just the one
Stay by me all my life.
Unlike the rest like ocean waves
That forever roll on for life.
