Friend For Me - Poem by Joshua Winfield

Good luck charm that’s me
Why do my friendships end with the words epic fail
I know you put me in peoples life to show them something
But who’s going to show me something
Who’s going to stick in there with me
Who’s going to pick me up when I fall
Who’s going to miss me when I’m away

It’s hard to carry on when I feel like a charm
Not the one you put on a bracelet
The one you hold on to hoping for something
And when that something appears
That charms is put back in the drawer
Under your books

I want someone who can put me on my feet
Someone who can help me
I want to give my whole heart
And receive a whole heart
I mean am I asking too much for someone to care
Well that somebody had his hand out all this time
I just did grab it.
