Friends Poem by John Sander

Friends

Rating: 5.0

I awoke one particularly dreary day
to a world without colors only shades of grey
The grass was not green, the roses not red
This colorless world filled me with dread
I didn't at all know what to do
The sky was grey while my heart was blue
Just then a good friend stopped by to see me
for conversation, rich food and coffee
I was amazed that with a friend sincere
our laughter caused color to reappear
Friends take away my black and white
You inject color into my life

A well deserving POD. It has everything a good poem needs. The use of color. The ying-yang of anyone's mental state. And the simplicity of someone's presence.lLove this poem!
