Frizzled, Frazzled Poem by Edwina Reizer

Frizzled, Frazzled

I'm wound up like a ball of string.
My nerves won't settle down.
Frizzled, frazzled and too uptight,
maybe I need to drown
all my tenseness with some wine
and leave my thoughts behind?

Took a few sips of burgundy red.
It created a dizzying feel.
Maybe coffee will take that away
and help me learn to deal
with life itself that I can't explain
so I can feel I'm sane.

Took a pill, a little white one.
I'm feeling better now.
I hate relying on doing this.
I feel like a broken bough
that needs mending right away
so my wound up feeling won't stay.
