From Below Poem by Joline Melanson

From Below

Rating: 4.5

I see you from the corner of my eye
I see you try
I see you fly
without leaving the ground
I see you grow
I see you cry
the sky is wide
the sky is far
they have reached the sky
they're wings so beautiful and strong
I see you beat your wings
faster and faster
yet you never reach the sky
I see you watching from below
feeling alone
feeling less
feeling down
I wanted to give you my wings
so that you could fly too
but alas
my wings are broken too.

It's a pity that a pity cannot pity a pity. A good piece nicely penned with a tinge of humour. Thanks for sharing Joline.
