From Scratch Poem by Carla Hart Ruber

From Scratch

Hello Mother!

I just wanted to say,
I hope you are happy and
Feeling okay!

Wish I could see you,
More often, for sure.
I get filled with such loneliness;
Only you have the cure!

I remember my childhood,
With happiness and joy.

I thought we had so much fun and
You were rarely annoyed
By the noise
We MUST have made!

I remember the games
We played, and
The hours we just layed
Around and talked.

We baked! Lots and lots
Of cookies and cakes,
From scratch; and there
Were dozens of doughnuts and
Batches of fresh home-made bread!

Through thick times and lean,
We canned and we cleaned;
Sharing our time, our hours,
Like treasures.

I know your Love is unmeasured.

As is mine.

I'm putting this one one my Face Book page - it's just perfect for the holiday season. :)
