From The Moment I Saw You Poem by Marcus McKinley

From The Moment I Saw You

Rating: 5.0

I am admiring you, longingly
As love grips my heart in agony
Struck by the truth of reality, that
I, will only know you in passing

Glancing briefly, across the counter
I pay for my order…..
Stuck in the moment, your beauty created

I sit at a vantage point, to eat in the view
Extending the agony fashioned by you
I undress my salad, each time I chew

The timeless daydreams of passion
Lead me astray in your eyes
I taste you in every bite
Even the bitter lettuce tastes sweet
In the silence, it’s love at first sight
