Frozen Sanctuary Poem by Sven Rhoads

Frozen Sanctuary

Trials and tribulations have led me here
Lost love and self-discovery birthed a new
The broken glass of those crystal tears
Are no longer in my peripheral view

Snow falls like the descent of angel feathers
Wings ripped out from their back sides
No need for those unspoken heartfelt letters
Into the fire is where the shall reside

Let go and be reborn in this winter land
The only voice is the whispering of winds
As I close my eyes and let the freezing cold within
I am now in the place where I truly belong
Among my kind, they couldn't ever understand
So alone among the millions there have been
As I open my eyes to this place that I'm in
Home at last in a frozen sanctuary

Numbing all the pain I've felt
Ceased the bleeding inside myself
They wont make me into what I'm not
With pseudo love to watch me rot
Coldest blue stays in my eyes
No more days of the constant lies
When they assume they'll never see
The man that I have come to be

Now a wanderer, I walk alone
Free from their replica state
At least I do not carry the stones
Or the burden of someone's weight

I maybe too lost to ever be saved
But I know myself, I'm not getting played
