Fruitful Drops Poem by Sentamu Aziz

Fruitful Drops

Hailstorms down
Drowning dust
Sprouting the shoots
Goes a phrase
Cats and Dogs
For quite a time
Thoughts I had
Why so it was
Never fruitful
Till the day
I thought and smiled
Raining it is
Mangoes and Grapes

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As a child grew up hearing and reading the ''raining CATS and DOGS '' phrase. It was never bothering till as an adult i thought it sounded kind of scary especially in Africa where kids are not so friendly to animals. I thought the phrase raining '' mangoes and grapes sounded more friendly and encouraging to the Kids to go out after the rain, leave alone ''sounding more fruitful'' than ''Cats and Dogs''

well, wonderful, reminder attempt in poesy. convention, traditions, prosperous and innocent past is well induced by your sweet verses. though it looks very humble and cute, gentle and sweet, the pith is what the reader enjoys dining upon the nectar of his/her mellow past. yummie.. mangoes, ripe and sweet, that too shared with birds and kids alike.. all that and the heavy drops drumming over the thick green leaves, the slant shower dancing by the long isolated village streets, the chorus of the nocturnal creatures, arguments of frogs all... in place reminded. thanks. now, look at my latest two poems, and i would appreciate your sharp review on them. pls.
