Future Glory. Poem by dave lessard

Future Glory.

The day of one's own death
is greater than one's birth
and so my friend, you return
to the dark and dusky earth.

Where you will stay asleep
rest until His sweet return
until He raises you up again
for this, your soul did yearn.

You - a soldier in God's army
a soldier always for the truth
a disciple for His Holy Word
from your following as a youth.

You - a mentor for all others
and a teacher for the Lord
keeping the commandments
brandishing His sword.

The day of one's own death
is greater than one's birth
your reward's a kingly crown
once raised up from the earth.
