Gallant Days Of Yore Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Gallant Days Of Yore

The conflict had almost ended
A temporary lull was all around.
But the fight was never o'er
In those gallant days of yore,
For this was historic civil war
Fought across the emerald fields
And over a windy moor...
Following Oliver Cromwell,
A famous General of the Horse,
Leading his faithful army force,
Riding ever onward, protecting
The moral laws ~ in the gallant
Days of minor revolution
On old England's rocky shores.
