Games We Played Poem by michael Smajda

Games We Played

How manty times, when you were a youngster
You jumped rope and hop scotched during the day?
And when the evenings were dark and quiet,
Hide and seek was a favorite game to play.

While the boys played fish with used marbles,
Cowboy, Indians when not else to do,
The girls all had their dolls and some played jacks,
As well as, Simon says, pick up sticks, too.

Now, that we're definitely much older,
Some childhood memories just don't fade away.
It was fun but, now, all is over.
The real game of living is now in play.
