Garbage Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Garbage

Its condescending to say but there was once a good use of our garbage
Its an interpretation that could easily be understood in any language
The matchsticks we once used to light up a fire
The old clothes we repeatedly used as our attire
The tissues we used to wipe the dirt off our face
Or the pair of worn out shoes that no longer have a lace
The empty bottles of beer scattered on the floor or ground
Could still be recycled and bought by a dollar or pound
The cigarette butts which filtered the smoke and nicotine
The bones of chicken or steak as a source of protein
The empty boxes which we used to keep our kitchen ware
Or the plastics which used to cover the clothes we wear
My point is everything had a use before it becomes useless
Otherwise everything I'm telling you would be pointless
Everything has a use and purpose in the book of creation
Nothing is deemed worthless in its own significance and variation
Even those we consider as garbage in the society have a role
They could be a friend or an enemy which uplifts the soul
Even garbage employs workers in some kind of profession
Collecting what is to be thrown out to their possession
Just like criminals employs Policemen, Lawyers and Agents to the scene
Arresting or convicting according to the witnesses and those who have seen
Even prostitutes have a role in the modern state
By comforting lonely men at a certain rate
Everything we wish to throw now had a use in the past
Unfortunately its purpose is something that would not last
For even garbage could be recycled, re-use and sold
Its the same thing about our society as the Gods have told
No one is garbage or useless in its own little way
For every life counts in the jungle by the end of the day
For no matter how good or bad you think you are
Your actions and words could only get you by far
