Films & Songs Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Films & Songs

Have you notice that some of the movies we watch are similarly alike with our life
I sometimes see myself as Robin Williams in the movie What Dreams May Come
Of the sacrifices someone is willing to make in order to bring back the love
The love between two lovers which is greater than anyone could ever have
I could also see myself as Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie Romeo and Juliet
It's the greatest love story of all times which most people could never forget
Or perhaps even as Eddie Murphy in the movie Coming To America
When I myself also went to Land of the Free in search of a certain bride
But the ending is sadly different for she had given up even though I tried
And unfortunately I also see myself as the ever powerful Dark Lord Sauron
In the movie Lord of the Rings as the Immortal Fiery Eye in the Sky
By coming back to life with all the other Kings who would never die
I could also relate to most of the songs they play in the radio and television
I could visualize my father singing every time I hear Wait For You by Elliot Yamin
When you abandon someone who loves you dearly but expects you to return
Just like by leaving America out of all the fear and rejection felt in every turn
I could hear my father's message every time I hear Complicated by Avril Lavigne
Of all the concerns a person is addressing to someone who is totally confuse
By trying to be someone else just in order to fit in like the substances he use
I could also see myself as Brian McKnight writing down the song Anytime for a girl
Of a girl who used to love me back but had finally given up by giving back the pearl
Or perhaps as John Mayer singing all of those songs of inspiration
In all the things we want to express to our world as our dedication
The song Pitong Araw by Hale is also my own father's constant reminder
Of all the Love, Support and Protection he gives to me in a certain order
And the song In the End by Linkin Park is one of his many clear manifestations
Of all the Trust he gives me all the time so I am grateful to those Radio Stations
The song You Belong with Me by Taylor Swift reminds me of my own wife's possessiveness
Of the Union you both have to each other which is hard to break even in health and sickness
There's actually a lot of Films and Songs which does reflect my very own life
Of how those Actors and Artists sing or portray myself especially to my wife
The Movies and Songs will always entertain all our weary hearts and soul
So I am grateful to all of you for making me and the entire humanity whole
