Garden Of Eden Poem by mike monahan

Garden Of Eden

Rating: 5.0

In the garden of life I searched for the sweetest flower that grew, Found many a variety of such on my journey and sampled, expectations became deluded as innocence found a mass of hidden thorn, With despondency more ground was covered to be met with a wrath of creepy things, Intoxicated in self pity I trod onwards with caution seeking not to be hurt by thorn nor branch that had left its tree, inverting thought to time itselfI indulged in visions of storms that passed, meaningless mind wars that darkened skies which blurred my horizons, Soon the Sun shone thru, A divine spirit pushed forth a cross that left the blackness behind guiding me toward a God given rose, A true scent of love overwhelmed, I gazed, it was you, one who had fallen like the autumn leaf had fallen asleep under the history of the Yew tree,In our awakenings we stretched out our hands to become one, we told our lord we would never let go, we never did...
