General Gerasimov Flees Back To Belgarad Poem by Gert Strydom

Valery Gerasimov Russian chief of staff
is wounded near the city of Izyum,
where he was sent to affect the stalled war.

Hundreds of Russian elite reinforcements were killed
in the key battlefield of Karkiev,
where a Russian high-level planning command post
came under attack
in the assault of the Donbas.

General Gerasimov was hit by shrapnel
in his right shin
and he has fled back to Russia,
to Belgarad.

In Belgarad a military facility
is also on fire,
after a large explosion from a Ukrainian attack.
