Genie In The House! Poem by Denis Martindale

Genie In The House!

There was a Genie named Adil,
Who granted wishes for a thrill,
But some worked well, and some did not,
So everyone was in a spot!
He liked to dance, he liked to sing,
Because of all the joys they bring,
While Emma loved performing, too,
Sweet Sophie loved what she could do!

Their sad Dad, Philip, stomped his foot!
'Adil, your wishes go kaput! '
'Master, I do the best I can!
But things don't always go to plan! '
When magic words first leave his mouth,
Don't look surprised when things go south!
He studied in the Genie class!
He took the tests but didn't pass!

His heart of gold and winsome smile,
Helped keep his secret for a while!
Then came a genie who let loose
The tragic truth and such bad news!
Confession brought Adil disgrace!
Yet he was so hard to replace!
What will Sophie and Emma do?
Though I forget, I wish I knew!

Here's a gentle reminder of the classic children's TV show, with a new poem titled 'Genie In The House! ' by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale.

It's the title of Nickelodeon's TV channel show. In this wonderful flight of fantasy, young Adil is the genie in the lamp discovered by Philip's beautiful daughters Sophie and Emma. From then on, their lives are in chaos, sometimes great and sometimes not so great. They sing together! They dance together! And they smile together! Even Philip turned out to be a great dancer. Through all their chaotic TV adventures together, they still loved Adil, and that says something great to me, because love like that is sublime and the truest and most wonderful magic of all time.
