Genocide Poem by Theresa Garces

Genocide

I'd like to kill
to put to rest
every pain
that haunts your chest
to bring them out
from where they hide
from secret corners
deep inside
and line them up
to face the wall
and with your help
we'd watch them fall
extinguish
to the very last
the deeper wounds
the shadowed past
and brighter stars
we could abide
in ruins of
this genocide
