Gentle Grins Poem by April Humason

Gentle Grins

In quiet presence, I felt the call,
A simple smile that softened all.
No loud display, no grand disguise—
Just kindness resting in your eyes.

Side by side through sacred trust,
We walked the path the Lord discussed.
Not built on haste or careless flame,
But peace that carried Heaven's name.

Our laughter light, our footsteps slow,
A steady faith in what we know.
Two hearts learning how to stay,
When fear or wonder tried to sway.

No need for pride, no need for art,
Just humble love within the heart.
A listening soul, a gentle way,
As God unfolded each new day.

Not childish love, but pure and still,
Aligned with Heaven's whispered will.
A sacred story softly spun,
Where two stood faithful — not just one.

Through trials near and questions far,
We trusted who You said we are.
Not rushed, not lost — just held in place,
Wrapped gently in redeeming grace.
