German Imagination

That boy, the whippersnipper,
is der Knirps,
which is also the telescopic umbrella.

That hat, the bowler,
is die Melone, the melon.

The man's name Horst
is also an eagle's nest.

Der Zug being all of the train, the puff,
the drag, the stroke, the gulp,
the mouthful, the stiff neck,
the tug, the procession,
the platoon, the section, the step,
the move in a board game,
the facial feature and the character trait,
if der Zug became the universe
it would not surprise.

Not your cup of tea
is nicht Ihre Kragenweite,
which is not your collar size.
