Get My Drift, Matilda Poem by Donal Mahoney

Get My Drift, Matilda

If your face were a
fishing reel

and you wound back
that look you hooked

him with weeks ago,
perhaps the phone

would ring or
he would send

a text but your
hook is in

so why not leave
well enough alone,

get my drift,
Matilda?
