Get up in the darkness...
...before dawn's early light...
...and offer tahajud;
Look out the bedroom window and see...
...the full moon shining in the sky...
...to offer light to the singing night birds and insects;
A beacon of light bringing joy to the early risers...
...talking to their lord...
...in the silent hours;
And bringing joy and wonder...
...to the listeners of the Lord's word;
The sun rises from the orient...
...and a new day of light starts;
We get a message of hope from the divine...
...even in the darkest of times...
...as light of joy and peace we find;
Let us be grateful to our lord...
...for bringing us out from darkness to light;
Let us glorify our lord...
...for the moon has been there in the dark night...
...overlooking us with divine smile...
...ensuring us that at the tale end of the night...
...there will always be light;
There has always been light in my long, long life...
...and I know it will be with me forever...
...in my life and beyond;
What more should I desire?
A feeling of contentment, joy and a peaceful heart...
...is what a wise person asks his lord.
