POEM " GETTING TO KNOW YOU " by martin gedge

One simple glance a new romance a circumstance in part

a perfect place while face to face to smile right from the heart

so fresh and new like children do to ease the chance we meet

to sit and stare a moment share while planted on our seat

and two in room for light to bloom to last as long we live

to hand of both that certain oath the love we want to give

and never fall for after all we are partners in the crime

the knowing fact I got your back and further down the line

and as we grow like paw to toe and tongue to kiss your face

the bond we keep cannot be beat nor ever be replaced

and through each day as kids we play under the beaming sun

of every source the drawing force to course the fields we run

to ups and down and turnarounds to find us chasing tales

the plans and paths we have some laughs with wind between our sails

for that is why when I to eye these feelings never fray

there's something here that pulls us near that makes us sit and stay

a hug to hold through warmth and cold a tag to call my own

your are my friend right to the end to fill this happy home...
