The Black Whispering Rain

POEM "THE BLACK WHISPERING RAIN " by martin gedge

You shelter from the cold the body heat you hold

to hide among the shadows of the dark

for if the light to touch you feel as much the clutch

gripping the aortic root of heart

for menace in the rain that toddles down your vein

tearing at the underlying crust

like statues you be still to move in for the kill

while all your vital organs turn to dust

a chemical in breeze while taking in the sneeze

is common course of causing the effect

to melt into the ground while seeping through this town

the gravy men will sputter from the neck

and bleed out from the skin the plague has settled in

to whisper in the breath of every ear

for once the storm to form another evil born

with promises that death is drawing near

there is no sure escape but to drown into the fate

of every living soul that has the gene

for there into the eye you see it multiply

so fast to ever last the quarantine

and as the black appears to drill into your fears

the matter will become the seeded host

for once a foot to lay the prints get washed away

to drain into the puddles of the ghost....
