Ghetto Poem by Mutsawashe Museredza

Ghetto

Thunder bolt smoke of weed, punctuate
the aroma, of the atmosphere,
Intoxicated lads hustle around frantically for the
Dollar, to feed their insatiable hunger for,
Perilous addictive substances
Ghetto
Moral decadency is home of it,
youths vomit ear itching words,
that begs more conviction to turn,
their hearts to righteousness,
Ghetto
Thigh vending is done around the clock,
all in the name of poverty, to earn an easy life,
risking venereal, ailments, unplanned pregnancies,
of young ones some to be born to unknown fathers,
of an act that happened in dark for day's plea for
food on the table.
Ghetto
Not a thing you want you can't find, .
all is made available in no time from vigilant,
and hustling ghetto youths, who are not
hesitant to do anything to fatten their pockets.
Ghetto
Handcuffed ghettos is fashionable, is deemed
a miss in strategy, in their toil in retrieving, the spoil home
Fights, graft dominate the daily routine
Ghetto.
