Ghost Wilderness Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Ghost Wilderness

Libations and ritual
The dead revel in tunnels
Desolate corridor of Zeus
Syllogisms leading to frost
Your ground of being is froze
The wind shelters anger

Amphitheater where Apache bleed
Death wheel of progress
Ice mothers bloody with religion

Now we grovel like sacred snakes
Bovine orator of Plato’s Republic
Augustine dies in the City of God
Pyramids with bottom tiers
The buffalo are gone
The new man is cold

Seer’s sail like albino fears
They sold their land for hell
Liars stole their sacred land
Shivering tribes kill one another
Join the fires of neon calculators
Incest like black red rain
Daughters of alcoholics in psyche wards
Splintered cultures survive on razors

A voice in the ghost wilderness
