She offers herself
As my friend
Who am I to receive
Such a gift
A bond of wills
Linked out before us
Open to the future
Without a trace of guilt
Sharing that moment alone
With each other
With a smile
About us the avenues
Of the common thread
Weaving in and out
Thinking of the next world
That I can offer her
As her friend
Respectful and loving
As is my due
Giving everything away
Becoming the reward
And the goal.
