Gifts Given Poem by Moth Harris

Gifts Given

Well he gave us our hearts and a wish to survive.
I guess we all are just lucky, and happy to be alive.
When times get hard and death rolls near.
Mourn with your heart and the people that are still here.

Because Time is not forever, no he never said it was.
As we are all tangled in vines it unwinds so tediously.
Such is life, or your pretty eyes,
I just hope one day you'll look at me and realize.

No this is not forever, or some story book.
So turn your head and take a look.
I've been here all along.

Well he gave me a pat on the back and heart filled with love.
Such a generous gift from the man above.
Such a shame I gave it all up without thinking twice,
but I guess this such and such will have to suffice.

Because time is not forever, I never dreamed that much.
As we are all tied together, it's all in the touch.
Such is love, or your beautiful smile.
I've been waiting here quite awhile.

No this is not forever, or written in stone.
With my caring heart, I am all alone,
waiting for you.
