Give, And It Will Be Given To You Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Give, And It Will Be Given To You

There is a poor widow,
worn out and without
respect, who helps
others and does not
want to be praised
who is just like a child,
who trusts in God
like a child.

She gives her God
everything she has,
all her money,
which in the eyes
of the rich men
and women
is nothing but
worthless coins.

Jesus sees her heart
and praises her:
she did not give
from her abundance,
no, she gave everything,
all her wealth namely
two coins.

She believes that
the next day will
take care of itself
through the one
God who does
not forget the weak.

She trusts that
what she had
lived and experienced
in her poor life,
especially since
the husband's death,
is true now that
God gives to those
who give.

St. Mark cha.12,38 44)
