Give Me Something


Give me something,
She cried to the poor man.
But I have nothing to give,
He pleaded.

Give me something,
Cried the girl,
But the poor man,
Just looked at her.

Give me something,
This girl shrieked,
But the man was aghast.
He couldn't give her anything at last.

Give me something now,
The girl pulled on his tattered sleeve.
The man now pulled her in his arms,
And held her.

She stopped screaming at last.
