Give Me Strength - Poem by Khaleel Steir
Lord, please give me the strength to fight back the beast within
I am slowly losing control and I cannot fight this one alone
You once gave me the strength to fight this angry beast and lock him away within
But he's grown stronger since our last battle
He's kicking at the door, he wants out. The beast within WANTS OUT!
I can't go back to the old me, that beast must stay locked up
My hands. The tremble like earthquakes when he tries his escape.
Lord, give me the strength of self-control to calm down before I do something I'll regret
This curse of a temper must never show its ugly face to the world
God, I'm begging, pleading that i can hold him back
The door is weak, he's made holes in the door.
He can see I am not strong enough.
One day, I'll snap, become the beast.
This fuse is short and it burns slowly, he will return one day.
But I will fight until that day comes
