Glasses Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Glasses

Glasses

Where are my glasses?
-the ones of yesterday

I cannot find magic
-of ones filled with joy, hope
-enamelled with motion and action

I was so active and playful
-flew high in sky yesterday

But today is mirage
-trees dead, lakes dry
-empty is sky
-no hope for joyful love

I want my glasses
-to use them as a horse
-let them be unicorn

I need books, stories
-of Rumi and Scheherazade

Come to me Ferdowsi
-and Hafez and Saadi
-Manoucher Atashi
-Mayakovski and Pushkin
-all poets except for
-Shakespeare
