Glittering Blackness Poem by Eduardo Torres

Glittering Blackness

Glittering Blackness

Light came shining through my window
I had a smile of joy today
I knew this was going to be a happy day

I walk outside
head to school
not looking bummed like I used to

I walk inside with joy and laughter,
friends telling stories with a sense of glory
my eyes immediately catch me of guard
This couldn't be happening,
not again
please go away
is what I said

The sun drops,
everything's dark
I'm sensing it again
glittering blackness
hits me like a ray
of lighting,

I run towards the light
the more I run the further
it goes, my mood changes from
happy and joyful
to mad and depressed,

I see a ray of light,
While i'm running towards it,
I'm remembering things in the past that I hated
Curse you glittering blackness

All i'm trying to do is be happy
and your cursing me with memories that
I regret doing

I know i've done wrong in the past,
but bring the light once again
I swear i'll make it right,

The light shines
flowers blossom
trees give life to the leafs
rivers keep flowing
blue sky's with clouds are roaming

I've started a new chapter in my life
one where darkness wont be

The light is staying with me
i've avoided darkness.
its time to be happy
and time to forget the past
live the present
and see what it throws at me

Good bye glittering darkness
its been a rough road
but i've gotten rid of you
