Gloriously Free Poem by D.A. Woods

Gloriously Free

I walked along the Chanory in the old part of town.
A beautiful dim lit walk in the moonlight that leads to the holy ground.
By the gates, down a hill that takes you to, as I stand by the banks of the River Don.

Recalling a day when I was 14 years of age on that very same day walk,
sitting down was an elderly woman who asked 'would you like to sit next to me? …please I have a message, we have to talk'

Frozen in time, overwhelmingly I be heard that voice before, I didn't know what to do.
This older woman's voice is all I heard saying 'I know your thinking I that I don't know you'
I agreed.
'Please sit a while, I have a message to give to you.'

She began to tell me old tales that seemed to have upset heras she keeps missing her true love, her soul saddened

I didn't need to ask her name, it seemed somehow I knew her.
As I got up and said goodbye, she gave me a gentle hug and began to cry over my shoulder.

Said said 'If you see Lisa Rose, tell her from me that I'm sorry and I know how she's lonely.
Tell her love can be found,
and love it is gloriously blind and free.
If you see Lisa Rose, tell her you love her from me and that she's your one and only'
- I walked away confused thinking crazy old woman and never thought of it again.

A decade passes and one night I hear that very name being softly spoken.
I turned around and fell into love.
Blasted through the heart like a shotgun.
A surge of electric ran through me,
inside something woken,
as she caught my eye, the road was open,
so I asked her name to make sure the name was correct I heard softly spoken.

We went for a walk that night, I told her that I had to tell you that you're my one and only,
and how you'll never be
set free,
until you give your love to me.
I got told this years ago, please don't go thinking I'm crazy.
Everything that old lady said all came flooding back and her words where freed.

She said 'Yes I know, because that was me, I've been to every star near and far searching for you.
Our being was forever entwined for many a millennia and I know you can feel it in your heart! '
We got separated and I've had to wait for today, this is true and for half a century of life in this world I'll have to wait for you! '

'You're going to have to go you're own way now and I shall mine,
First there's things you have to do in life, so do I before time'
How could she do this? , I've just begun to know her.
I doubted her credentials, my crime.

Now, I watched a poor old man struggle down the slope heading to bench,
I offer him my arm to lend.
As he thanked me, turned his back and sat down and looked saddened with tears in eyes.

Because of tthe love this girl and I've been trying to find and connect after eternities finding her she's here.

And 30 years later, again this sullen heart froze.

'if I see Lisa Rose, say hello from me and asked is she still happy and free? .

Tell her I'm sorry and that my love has been gloriously blind and free.
Ask her does she still love me? ,
and It's now time to come back and be.
I have all this love still in me,
For she still has my hearts key.'

I walked away, turned around and that old man was me

We will die lonely without real knowing real love or happiness.
Missing the one,
His queen.

The next world, I'll get her back
