Good Morning, Good Night Feud. Poem by D.A. Woods

Good Morning, Good Night Feud.

Some days the world and I wake up feeling alive,
and other times I must hide
all the delicate parts of me inside,
with tomorrow, I've really got to try.
I've got to try.

To succeed in life you have to have those that fail,
the equilibrium of who we are leaves a sweet taste or one of stale.
Some of us are on track or we are either derailed.
We're all derailed.

The light is always around the corners bend,
a phrase that keeps repeating in my head,
my unhappy mantra and I wish we could transcend.
We wish to transcend.

There is no more lifes internal wars waiting for me,
for I have gave up, surrendered and moved on the way it was supposed to be,
guarding 40 years of despair I wish I could have foreseen.
I never could foresee.

Now with darkness looming my tiredness is wry,
I want to go to sleep but I cannot close my eyes.
I can't close my eyes.
