Glycerine Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Glycerine

Rating: 5.0

I am exposed.
I wish I'd known how fragile the heart was,
how soft the flesh was.
I wish,
I'd known.
I prematurely gave you everything I had,
and I'm still waiting on all of you.
Almost two years now,
and I'm still here.
'Needed you more, but wanted us less. Could not kiss, just regress.'
What does that mean to you?
There's not way you'd of known this would happen,
when you chose this song for us.
Ruca, that's what you called me.
Do you still see me that way?
I don't.
Tall, plain, long black hair.
What did you see?
I only have so much flesh to ink,
and you were the second to take place.
I'll look at my wrist, past the scars and the blood,
and see you.
This is falling all around us, isn't it?
Yet,
the grip we hold tightens.
We keep pulling each other up.
Through those nights you'd toss and turn,
I'd tell you to hold me as tightly as you needed.
I know thing's look hard now,
but they won't always.
I've taken down layers of your wall,
peeling back to the soft underbelly.
I know much more then you think.
I see the soft pink flesh peeking from your shell.
Your hearts within my grasp,
but yet, I will not grab it.
I will not squeeze it, until it stops.
I will not make the mistakes you did.

There's a picture for my poem, along with a few others.
