Gnosy Pkunt Poem by Francie Lynch

Gnosy Pkunt

Pnosy Pkunt

It needs be written with a silent "P; "
If I don't, they won't publish me.
And I'll write phuk like thus,
And it won't hurt some's decorum,
And hoar will suffice, when I really mean whoredum.

"Damn you for a fool, " might sound like Gable,
"Bless you for a saint, " is Pope Leo's "Hello."
"Phuk you for a hoar, " was Dad's spitting curse,
And "Jesus, Mary and feckin' Joseph" when he cut off his thumb, and worse!

And believe this, Mammy was quick with the "P" word:
"A nosy pkunt, " "miserable pkunt, " "cheap" or "funny pkunt, "
Were expletives I heard.
But not at the market or yelled from the curb;
But to the ears of our lucky friends
From the phuking Lynch herd.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I've had my membership here paused for a year because of profane wording, so, I'm using silent letters and different spellings and homonyms to get the idea across.
