Go Away A Hero Poem by Sarah Mkhonza

Go Away A Hero

One day you came a shameless stranger.
Landed on the ground an alien from afar.
Looked for what could make you talk like
all around you. Now you walk a strong
walk with many. You have arrived at ground
zero. Why not walk away a hero by defying
gravity and flailing you arms with the fistful of shoves that spell out your persistence. For it is the door that never
closes and lives you outside.

Include yourself in the register
so success for it is always waiting
open to a page where all you do
is add your name.

Running as you are, you belong
here where the new arrivals are
marked with a godly tatoo that
spells their own ability to
do all through persistance.
