Go To God Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Go To God

I went boldly
And happily
To ask for her hand
If she can’t become friend

“Go to God” she firmly told
You are my world
I was little apologetic
She remained non- pulsed and static

I was puzzled
As visibly struggled
She did not budge
And bluntly refused

She did not hide her emotions
But expressed little apprehension
What was I up to?
She pointed at my claim to be true

I had no option
So adopted caution
The thoughts were rationale
She smelled good so I inhaled

“You headless man”
I am human too
She was in smiles again
I forgot altogether the mental strain

Does this occur often?
I felt like living in heaven
She was just before my eyes
I pressed her hand with equal try
