God. Poem by Luke Butler

God.

Rating: 3.0

God.
I can not see you, are you a ghost?
I can not hear you, when I feel I need you the most,
But I love you, don't ask me why,
I debate your existence, but believe in the most high,
God.
I wonder what its like, if you are real,
if so, no one would know the pain you feel,
to be constantly doubted, and yet to love,
I can not contemplate your mercy above,
God.
If you are fake, let it be known, I fell pray to a lie,
If you are fake, it does not matter, we are all doomed to die,
I choose to believe, based in logic and fact,
oh God I hope you are cool with that,
God.
If you can save the world, please save it too,
I know some people do not deserve the things you do,
I am one of them, a swindler, and a cheat,
Please, please, do not let me be ended beat,
God.
I am constantly doubting, constantly in fear,
There is a chance, in which you did not put us here,
I am sorry, I am human after all,
God, please show me the light, so my faith will not stall,
God.
You are a marvel, something in which consistency lies,
and yet people will attack your formula, even though it saved lives,
God.
