Who is my neighbor?
A young man asked Jesus.
He told a story instead
of an unlovable Samaritan
archenemies of the Jew

Who is my neighbor?
and God said--anyone
whom I created is!
Yes—its you, me and others
both known and unknown

Ukrainians and Russians
in war or in peace—
everyone is my neighbor
to love and to cherish
people created in his image

That's exactly what he said
whether you like it or not
they are your neighbors
in this life or the next—
you've got no option to choose
