God's Children Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

God's Children

Who are we to change the world?
To decide what lives and dies?
I see nothing but pain and terror in this land
Endless wars killing everything
Man has caused so much grief
Nothing can put our faults right
Father time is dead
And mother nature sleeps
I see no reason for the fighting
We are all equals are we not?
We are all man, God's creation
Thoughtless years of bullets and blood
With no-one to see the consequences
An eternity of man after man dying for someone else
But who are we to shape the future?
We are mere ants, working in the present
Building a better world for our children
But all I see is a broken empire
Dying forever
We are equals in this world
As are we in the next
Endless fighting proves no point
So why do it?
In the end we are all bound
No matter how different
We are all God's children
