God's Failure - Poem by John Randal

A failure in life
and so in death,
as God lays my soul
down in hell to rest

on glowing embers
of burning coal
in the frigid draft
of eternal cold.

Failed by God!
for all my sins,
He could wash away,
but never did.

Dammed by God!
for what I am,

every imperfection
he created in man
