Goddess Of The Moon (For; Natasha Akpoti) Poem by Abdullahi Suleiman Otiwe

Goddess Of The Moon (For; Natasha Akpoti)

Rating: 5.0

Queen of the River Niger
Your arrival is very late
Yesterday the Prince was here
He left us grieving for the moon

Queen of the River Niger
The palace guards forsake you
"Yes" we're aware of the palatial war
All were busy shooting the moon

Queen of the River Niger
We heard the King disowned you
Your remaining entitlement now
is the royal blood
The Prince was banned from here too

Queen of the River Niger
Join us to grieve for the moon
We know all your horrible battles
All won but couldn't conquer any

Queen of the River Niger
The palace guards harassed you
Leaving your pant tore apart
The rape was against us not you

Queen of the River Niger
Sleep here till the dawn
This dark night is an era
We shall transit through in peace!
