Going Home Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Going Home

The breeze is soft and cool
It is springtime once again
Rain falls across the window
Perhaps to glance within

Don't lie in shaded puddles
Warm waters come from longer days
Wake the summer with the sunshine
Relive the joyful childhood days

Starlight brings us together
Before magic fills the night
Even the darkness is not so lonely
When it merges with the light

You can hear their lovely stories
They retell them in a rhyme
It is the way of nature calling
Join in by singing thine

Come hither, my dear Spirit
For the clock has now stuck, nine
Every beginning has an ending
May joyful tears be left for mine

Until the morning of tomorrow
Blankets over an open grave
Find solace with a smile
I am finally home to stay
