Going To The War Poem by Dr. Yogesh Sharma

Going To The War

Do not tell me my Sweetheart I am unkind,
That from bedroom sweet and cozy,
Of your innocent breast and calm mind
But today to war with guns I fly.

True, a new partner now I chase,
The first enemy in the ground;
And with a stronger loyalty embrace
A gun, a canon, a guard.

Give me loving folk,
Whose high merit is song
Who adore their work,
To applaud God along.

Yet this infidelity is such
As you too shall admire;
I could not love it dear so much,
Loved I but can’t Honour fire.
