Going With The Flow Poem by Long Tooth

Going With The Flow

Going With The Flow

Yes, "going with the flow" has found new meaning on Hawaii's coast
The lava there from many fissures covers earth like jam on toast
Though driven just by gravity as soon as it has found release
It's path remains a tortured trail while searching for another peace.

In rush downhill the lava head can cool and form a blocking wall
That forces molten rock behind to split like shoppers in a mall,
So sometimes homes or even villages are saved from Pele's ire
The lava flows where none could guess, while local's stand and watch hellfire.

So, "going with the flow" won't mean things always go the way you want,
And sometimes life is lost as well which Godly folk might see as taunt,
Ascribing guilt to those whose only choice is sit and wait a while,
To toss off heaven's challenges, greet "Acts of God" with human smile.

For God, if he is truly real, is part of what "the flow" must be,
His actions though they might seem dire have consequences you won't see,
And riding on His currents just might save your strength for final swim,
Though you may doubt, don't discount view that heart and soul belong to Him.
