Gold Poem by Nafisah Suleiman

Gold

I am turning gold,
Slowly, steadily,
Refined by the fire.
Yes, the pain is there,
But it's worth the glow of desire.

Beloved, I'm crazy about Jesus,
His love, my unwavering creed.
I can't let Him go;
I'm forever His,
Bound by love, not need.

Yes, I am turning gold,
Glowing, ready,
Forged by the fire.
No clone am I, dear—
I'm pure, unique,
Simply turning gold.
