Gold Fools Poem by Alex Lane

Gold Fools

No-one suffers fools gladly
so no-one ever suffers me
the roof fell on my brain
so I'll never look up again
its too hard to concentrate
when I've already made peace with fate
born as a lucky drain
with a heart that feels others pain
with my thick skin
I crawl under and in
an ego made of tin
as I tried and grew thin
you saw the sea part a way for me
because no-one suffers fools gladly
where is the connection?
Where is the connection?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was just an attempt at looking at empathy through dark humour, also a statement on my impulsive need to help people, and how sincerity affects the way you are received.
