Golem Poem by Mark Williams

Golem

Tell me again the difference between love and affection,
I am dizzy for the loss of direction.
Stumbling blind and not knowing the reason.
Explain to me in great detail without missing parts,
What I must do to get to your heart.

I am supposed to write here great imagery and metaphor,
Of the angel you are and the little twists of you I adore.
Cleverly whisper how the light follows you as heavenly beacon.
Low as I am, I find no pedestal to place you on.
Incomprehensibly I follow you as dark gray contrasts to black.

All the others go on about binding themselves to partners,
Speaking of pacts and blood drawn in absence.
You will never be good for me in any state or form.
In every way I yearn and need for you.
Hopelessly drawn in a harmful addiction.

Mistake my experience for lack of understanding,
Love is simple as cut geode pairings.
I am caught between your logic, my lack of thought.
Stop trying to find words and actions to define.
Love is easy dear, just place your hand in mine.

Tell me again the difference between safety and harm.
The pain I am feeling is raising alarm.
Reading alone, not aware of the reason.
Whisper the breath of a hint, the slowest start,
Which love that needs breaking to reach your heart.
